Psoriasis and Pregnancy Miscarriage

Recent study in 2021,  develop evidence- and experience-based recommendations for the management of psoriasis during preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding. Methods: The nominal group technique and the Delphi method were used. Fifteen experts (12 dermatologists, 2 of whom were appointed coordinators; 1 rheumatologist; and 2 gynecologists) were selected to form an expert panel. F ollowing a systematic review of the literature on fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding in women with psoriasis, the coordinators drew up a series of preliminary recommendation s for discussion by the panel at a nominal group meeting. The experts defined the scope, sections, and intended users of the statement and prepared a final list of recommendations. Consensus was obtained using a Delphi process in which an additional 51 dermatologists rated their level of agreement with each recommendation on a scale of 1 (total disagreement) to 10 (total agreement). Psoriasis Treatment in UK

 Recent study determined the cost-effectiveness of apremilast for the treatment of active psoriasis for adult patients who failed to respond to or are intoler-ant to disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs in UK. A Markov state-transition cohort model was adapted to the UK setting to compare costs and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) from 2 treatment sequences: apremilast, adali-mumab, etanercept, infliximab, and best supportive care (BSC) versus adalimumab, etanercept, infliximab, and BSC. The analysis time horizon was 40 years using a 28-day cycle length. The perspective of the UK National Health Service (NHS) was chosen. Psoriatic Arthritis Treatment Study 2021

 In 2021 Study, Thirty-two Psoriatic Arthritis patients classified according to the CASPAR criteria and attending the Rheumatology Unit of the University of Padua Medical Center were enrolled in a two-year prospective, observational study. In accordance with the ASAS/EULAR recommendations on the management of these patients, those studied were prescribed biological agents [etanercept (n = 21), adalimumab (n = 6), infliximab (n = 5)].
